A heavy equipment operator was taken by ambulance to Hilo Medical Center after a breaking a leg in an industrial injury late Tuesday morning at Puna Geothermal Venture.
According to Hawaii Police Department Capt. John Briski, the man was operating a bulldozer when he was struck on the leg by a beam and sustained “a non-life-threatening injury to his leg.”
Briski said it wasn’t clear whether the man, who wasn’t identified, is a PGV employee or a employed by or as a contractor.
